On-the-Job Hospital Pharmacist Trainee Programme
This course is developed and directed by the Department of Pharmacy Services of Murshid Hospital & Health Care Centre. This on-the-job Pharmacist Training Programme is a unique opportunity offered by the Department of Pharmacy. Since its inception in 2012, the programme has successfully trained many pharmacists, majority of whom have been employed by the department itself as a full-time pharmacist. However, Department of Murshid Hospital & Health Care Centre will not hire all trainees attended the Programme.
Goal
The aim of this training is to provide practical skills of pharmacy practice to the trainee while moulding them into an effective and skilled workforce.
Educational Strategy
The basic educational strategy will be accomplished through lectures, tutorials, evaluation tests, ward and satellite pharmacy rotations and student projects. The medium of instructions will be English.
Who Should Attend
Fresh Pharmacy graduates from a recognised institution should apply. The students must have completed 5 years PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree. Students awaiting their last semester’s result may also apply for this training Programme. To appear for the merit test the students must have scored at least 60 percent or CGPA 3.0 obtained in PharmD.
Student Evaluation
Students will be evaluated on the basis of marks obtained in multiple-choice examination and their interviews with the panel.
Duration of the Course
The duration of this course is three months. Trainees are inducted in June and December every year. The sessions last from January to March and from July to September every year.
Tuition Fee
The course is offered free of charge for the students.
